The Statistics Department is pleased to honour Xinglong Li with Statistics Graduate Teaching Assistant Awards.
Xinglong has demonstrated exceptional leadership as a head teaching assistant for various courses, including STAT 302 and STAT 306, throughout the Summer and Winter Term 1 of 2022. His contributions were instrumental in developing lab materials and crafting Webwork questions. Xinglong's dedication extended beyond traditional TA duties; he actively engaged with students, employing his expertise in R code during lectures to enhance their understanding of practical applications. Furthermore, he actively participated in in-class activities, addressed students' queries, and supplemented lecture content with additional insights during lab sessions. Xinglong also took the initiative to design course projects and assist in formulating appropriate exam questions, showcasing his commitment to fostering a dynamic and enriching learning environment.
We know that many department members contribute to undergraduate education, and we want to take the opportunity to not only honour this year’s winner, but also to thank everyone. Thank you to all of our dedicated teaching assistants, faculty and staff who enthusiastically support our teaching. And congratulations to Xinglong!
