Senior Instructor Eugenia Yu receives Killam Teaching Prize

We’re very pleased to announce that our Statistics Senior Instructor, Eugenia Yu, has won a Killam Teaching Prize for excellence in teaching.

Always aiming to improve our students’ learning, Eugenia has contributed to the undergraduate student experience in many ways. She has helped develop resources for teaching and learning introductory statistics as part of a multi-unit team in the Flexible Learning Introductory Statistics (FLIS) project. Prior to her involvement in the FLIS project, she organized the Introductory Statistics Discussion Group for seven years. Eugenia has also trained and mentored teaching assistants. And as co-chair of the department's Undergraduate Delivery and Enhancement (UDE) committee, Eugenia has helped advise undergraduate students.

Having recently taken on a role disseminating information to the department’s faculty members to help us smoothly transition to online learning during these unprecedented times, Eugenia continues to exemplify excellence in teaching, including leadership and care for students’ learning and wellbeing.

We’re grateful for Eugenia’s dedication to teaching and proud of her accomplishments.

Congratulations, Eugenia!
